Moving

I know I haven't posted in quite a while, but I'm thinking now is the time to get more consistent with this thing.

I was talking to my friend, April, this weekend and she encouraged me to be more active on my blog so she could stay in touch with us over the next year as we set out on our Pennsylvanian adventure.  Thinking of this next year as a new adventure with tons of nooks and crevices to explore is a great way to keep me thinking about new opportunities and the fun we can share with our friends even though we're going to be roughly 3,000 miles apart.

So what better post to start with....Moving...dun....dun...dun

It's actually just as painful as it sounds. I started a bit early this time, since I am quite accustomed to this across country trek. I have to divide our house into sell, store, and move. It becomes quite difficult to decide what should go in each pile. For instance, deciding between my red boots and my husband's t-shirts, I think the solution is quite obvious. A girl can never have too many pairs of boots, but men's t-shirts look the same. He can live with 3, right?

I try and pride myself on the fact that I'm not one of those "pack rats". Well I'm realizing, to my horror, I may have packed a bit more into this 3 bedroom condo than I was willing to admit to myself.  Just the other day I realized I had a food processor! Do you know how long I have been begging my hubby for one? It's actually quite embarrassing to find it in the back of the cupboard all this time. Although I will say the cupboards in this place are poorly positioned. I will post a picture to prove it. On the up side...apparently packing can be more like Christmas than you realize. I just got myself a brand new food processor! Too bad I had to pack it up and can't use it till August. :)
This is the outside of the corner cupboard unit. It looks perfectly normal from this angle.

Here is the inside of the cupboard. I know this image is awful, but hopefully you get the idea of how far back this thing goes. You can quickly forget what you've placed back there. As I apparently did. :)

The overall process of moving is slow and very time consuming, but I'm sure we'll get this place packed up in time. I hope! I just need to stay focused and always remember; my family needs to go with me, so I can't use their seats in the car for packing my closet space. ;)
