And The Winner Is...
So, I first want to apologize for posting late. It's been quite difficult to pick a name with everyone's wonderful and creative ideas.
At one point this week, I actually considered holding off on choosing a name. It may sound crazy, but names are like labels and they can feel quite confining at times. I know that labels play a vital role in our society. Without them, it would become quite difficult to filter and organize all of the information into something useful. Our brains would simply overheat from the confusion!!! However, I DO feel that we have become a little too eager to slap on labels; to the point of missing out on important details. I'm sure many of you would argue that I'm overthinking this, but hey I'm supposed to be the tortured artist. ;)
Bottom line, I want to keep my creative license without limiting my possibilities. I am a work in progress and will continually grow throughout my life. Choosing a name to represent me as an artist is basically choosing a name to represent me as a person. So how do I pick just one label when I live such a multidimensional life? Well, I guess I'd better pick a really good one...
As you can see...this decision has been a bit consuming this week. ;)
All in all, I'm realizing that clearly my name needs to stand the test of time in order to represent the ever changing adventures I might embark on. Therefore, without further adieu...
My Company name is (dun dun dun...): "Mad Lulu Designs"
My furniture line will be Restoration Joi
My photography line will remain Brandi Kaplan Photography
Because my children, Taylor and Maddox, represent so much of who I am now, and will forever be a part of my future, I settled upon a name that truly captures these loves of my life.
So the Starbucks winner is:
