Texas
As most of you know, my family moved to the Dallas, Tx area this past summer. It was another big move, but I'm glad we did this one on our own. We had a bit of a bad experience with our movers last year and we didn't want to wait several months for our stuff to arrive. My folks were kind enough to fly out and help us with so many things from moving in furniture, unpacking clothes, to making our kiddos feel loved and special throughout the entire process. Just another area where I realize how blessed I really am.
Now that we're pretty settled, it's time to pursue my passions in a new area. I've been adding different items to MadLulu in a process of figuring out which direction I want to go. I think overall, I really want the heart and soul to be my furniture pieces. I haven't had a good piece to work on in awhile, so I'm thinking I should start scouting after the 1st of the year. I can't wait to find that piece that speaks to me and get started after the craziness up the upcoming Holidays. :)
Brandi Kaplan Photography is getting it's feet wet at the Kid's school this weekend. The annual PTA Fall Festival is being held to fund raise money for the school year. Since I have no clients out here (result of being friendless at this point), I decided to offer a photo shoot with all the editing and reproduction rights of the images as a silent auction item. I truly hope that my contribution helps the school out and possibly creates an opportunity to pursue my passion in photography and capturing REAL moments in people's lives.
I've had a big move, taken some huge steps with my dreams, BUT Texas is a gigantic state. So, if I'm gonna give this a go and take the leap of faith, now is the time. There is no failure in life...only the adventure of living. Plus, at the end of the day...I have these 2 beautiful blessings who make my world pretty amazing. ;)
