We're No Longer Homeless!!!

This past week J & I have been scouring the entire West Chester area in search of the perfect home. Okay, perfect may not be the right word here…the options were far from perfect.

In the past 48 hours I have seen some beautiful luxury apartments that are way out of our league, and some major dives (luckily we were way out of theirs). ;)

We had 15 places picked to hunt down and visit. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but it takes much longer to check out a place than one would think.  One of the first places we visited provided free Latte’s in the lobby. Let me just say, it smelled FABULOUS!!! I had a moment of insanity and thought we might get to really live it up next year, but the price quickly brought me back to reality.  Come to find out, we landed there on accident. Apparently, there were two Jefferson communities and we were looking for the one a few miles down the road.

One morning we woke to a desperate need of coffee. We left our hotel and quickly decided upon Starbucks due to its familiarity and abundance (or so we thought). After driving a few miles and no Starbucks in sight, we pulled out our wonderful Smartphone’s to search for the closest one. The directions were quite detailed as they lead us all throughout the town. Upon finally arriving, 30 minutes later, we happened to look just left and see our wonderful hotel conveniently located next door.

We did have some wonderful encounters with the locals. For instance, our new friend Heather Ann works as a waitress at Cracker Barrel when she’s not attending college in Pensacola, FL. She was able to recommend a church, contractor, landscaper, and house cleaner (all just within her immediate family).  She was one of the sweetest people I’ve met and she even gave me her cell phone number!!!

They also have this very popular convenience store called Wawa out there. Many include a gas station, others stand-alone. Upon our first visit inside, the store clerk offered us a free cup of coffee just as a welcome. It was on her dime! The coffee was pretty good too. It complimented our cinnamon roll quite nicely.

Through it all there have been a few sleepless nights, a stress migraine x2, and an immeasurable amount of U-Turns (because we definitely lost count after 25), but we were able to put down a deposit on a place yesterday.

It’s a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhome that has a wood burning fireplace AND snow removal to our doorstep. We are well equipped for visitors with an astounding 1700 sq ft. So there are NO EXCUSES people! You must come visit us this upcoming year and join us as we explore this new area and the surrounding states.  Be sure to call and reserve your room before all the dates book up. ;)

PS~ I was going to include pictures, but unfortunately my camera was left under the seat in the rental car. That....is a story for another day. :(
